On our first day of O&G posting he commanded that 3 of us must be on call.

At about 12midnight he came to the labour room to confirm whether we obeyed him.

He was versatile, thorough and compassionate.

His last assignment was to resolve the crisis between the government and University lecturers.

It’s very difficult for anyone who is fortunate to be mentored by him to ever forget him.

Professor Briggs came, saw and conquered.

By all standards he was an accomplished man.
